About this opportunity

In Group Finance we secure efficient financial resources to Nordea by managing Nordea’s financial performance, capital, liquidity and funding as well as market risk in an efficient and compliant way. We provide in-house expert tax and accounting advisory to the Business Areas and the Group, contributing to informed decision making, risk mitigation and cost savings. We deliver value adding analysis of Nordea’s reported forecasted profit and loss and balance sheet to top management, in order to improve understanding of the business, and to support strategic decision making. To do so we develop and maintain proprietary analysis applications.

Collaborating with skilled, international teams in a motivating, agile environment, you’ll play a part in shaping the future of the banking industry. We all have a role in building the best bank that serves our customers as well as regulators, rating agencies, investment analysts and shareholders.

What you’ll be doing:

Throughout the Graduate Programme you will work with the strategically important tasks and areas within the following Group Finance units:

Investor Relations (Stockholm)

  • Supporting management and development of the relationship with Nordea’s equity and debt investors as well as analysts and rating agencies
  • Engaging in the production of the quarterly and annual/sustainability reports and related investor material and events
  • Following and analysing key banking industry trends and peers

Group Treasury (Copenhagen)

  • Supporting the management of the bank’s funding activities, liquidity position and the related market risks on the balance sheet, as well as the Group’s investment portfolios and structuring activities
  • Engaging in analysis of the bank’s funding and liquidity position, and developing related models
  • Participating in management of the bank’s internal fund transfer pricing framework and processes, incl. supporting analyses and tools

Group Financial Management (Stockholm, Helsinki)

  • Participating in driving the financial management agenda for the Group as a whole, as well as for the Group Functions units
  • Analysing Nordea’s capital position and profitability, reviewing capital regulations, and developing our capital management framework and processes
  • Developing Nordea’s financial forecasting models – balance sheet and profit and loss

CFO Office (Copenhagen, Helsinki, Stockholm, Warsaw)

  • Contributing to key strategic projects within Group Finance or across the Group as a task driver or project manager
  • Management support to the Group CFO and Group Finance senior leadership

To be a qualified candidate for the Graduate positions, you have:

  • Relevant Master’s degree (graduating latest 1st Sept. 2022) preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Management, Engineering or similar
  • A maximum of two years’ post-academic work experience
  • Excellent English language skills

Where relevant for the role an interest in and experience of working with tools such as Python, SQL and Databases is a plus

The roles will be based in Warsaw, Helsinki, Copenhagen and Stockholm.
