The Role

As a CAE Analyst, you will play a critical role in the development of the next generation ZF Electronics and ADAS products.
In this role you will be reporting and working together with Mechanical Simulation Teams in Shirley, UK and Farmington Hills, US and be mainly responsible for analysing and optimizing the performance of revolutionary ZF Radar and Camera CORE designs. You will be an innovative and skilled problem solver, using all analysis tools available to you. Where these tools are insufficient or do not exist, you will develop novel methodologies to establish fast and accurate solutions. You will be brilliant both technically as an individual, and as an active member in a diverse and challenging cross-functional team environment.

Responsibilities:
• Provide CAE and CFD support through building state of art FEA and CFD models to the finest details and support design progression and evolution with multi-disciplinary engineering teams;
• Perform advanced CAE and CFD simulations, drive manufacturing centric Radar and Camera CORE designs, balance all applicable requirements with state-of-the-art design and innovative manufacturing methodologies and enhance sub-systems as well as full system level simulations of specific design attributes and manufacturing processes;
• Develop and apply advanced methodologies with smart analysis techniques to drive innovation;
• Develop and support subsystem level & full system level correlations in line with standard protocols and conduct optimization studies by utilizing optimization tools, including DOE/DFSS techniques on components, predictive models of materials and processes to meet performance requirements with the constraints of mass and cost; perform post-test reviews and corroborate the CAE and CFD predictions to test results;
• Produce concise management summaries and report-outs that meet the needs of management system functions.

Requirements:
• PhD or Master’s in Mechanical / Materials Science engineering degree;
• Deep working knowledge of Finite Element Analysis, Finite Volume Method, Smooth Particles Hydrodynamics, CFD, Applied Solid Mechanics, Material science and Computational Numerical Methods within a product development environment expertise in Automotive Electronics industry; excellent applied experience in ANSYS-Icepack or FLUENT/STAR CCM+ and ANSYS Mechanical – Workbench & Classic APDL scripting, Optistruct, LS-Dyna;
• Demonstrated successful experience with at least two relevant product lines preferably within ADAS domain;
• Thorough knowledge in fundamentals of structure, thermal phenomenon, understanding of fatigue, creep phenomenon in structural bodies;
• High skills level and demonstrated experience in multidisciplinary domains of single and multi-phase CFD, thermal, coupled structural and thermal, electromagnetics CAE, simulating steady state and transient single and multi-phase fluid flows on sub-systems and full system level models for structural, fluid mechanics, fracture mechanics, electro-magnetism, and thermal domains;
• Demonstrated ability to work independently on pioneering and challenging problems, deconstructing complex test scenarios with good logic and analytics and root-causing correlation problems in iterative and collaborative automotive-similar engineering environments, to deliver analysis on difficult projects with tight timing constraints;
• Flexibility to adapt in an exciting fast paced working environment & willingness to travel.

Preferred:
• Deep fundamental Knowledge of mechanical and materials science with Physics of Failure in Electronics products, knowledge of Plastic Moulding, Pressure Die-casting & Metal Pressings process’s, as well as Assembly design including mechanical joining technologies;
• Familiarity within 3D CAD software, preferably CATIA V5/6 is beneficial;
• Experience in stand-alone or coupled analysis of electronic components;
• Understanding of FMEA techniques.

We offer:
• Exposure to modern ADAS future technologies like autonomous driving;
• Good working environment, work in a multinational team;
• Career opportunities;
• Flexible working hours, work in hybrid system (partially remotely);
• Private medical care, employee package –‘MyBenefit’, relocation package;
• Employment agreement with copyrights tax benefit.
